FAQ

So to hopefully cut down on my e-mail writing time (and perhaps yours as well) I’ve decided to just compile all the questions I get here so hopefully you can learn more about me and the processes I use for weddings. If you have questions keep reading – I might have answers and if you don’t find the answer your looking for feel free to e-mail me at info@erinparis.com or give me a call at 391-3622. Thanks!

How do you deliver your photos? Do we receive them on a CD?
As for right now I deliver my photos through what’s called an “online proofing site” called Zenfolio which is a website that you can view and download all of the images that I upload from your wedding. The reason I do it that way is because it’s an eco-friendly option and I’m kind of an eco-dork. However I do recommend copying the images in as many locations as possible. The best way to store your images – in my opinion – is to burn them twice on archival gold dvds and then print them with a  high quality printer. I cannot stress enough that you find  a professional quality printer because they use better paper and better inks aaaand they wont screw up the colors that I tortured myself over perfecting. This means: no 1 hour aaaaanything, no walmart, no drugstores, no costco,  no $0.14 prints period. You can actually place an order for prints through Zenfolio which will be very high quality and, for the quality, will be pretty reasonable.

What kind of equipment do you use?
I shoot with a Canon 7d, the lenses I use are Canon 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS, Tamron 28-75mm f2.8, Tokina 11-16mm f2.8, Canon 50mm f1.4, Canon 85mm f1.8 and I use a 17 in. Mac BookPro and I edit all of my photos with Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop cs5.

Will I have the rights to print my images?
Technically I give all of my clients “permission” to use the photos however they wish for the most part. I actually retain the copyrights because just in case the images fall into the hands of someone who misuses the images I have the right to protect them. I actually hope you do print the images as many times as you possibly can and share them on the web with your friends and family. The only way you can’t use your images is for heavy commercial uses and you can’t give other people the rights to use them commercially either. using the images for anything not used for the purpose of making money is moooooore than fine with me. :)

I want to book you to photograph my wedding – now what?
Yay! OK so once you let me know that you want to book me I will send you quote which, if it looks good to you, will direct you to the contract which you can fill out right then and there. There is a non-refundable retainer of $250 for all packages which at the moment  must be paid by check but soon will be available to be paid online with credit or debit. There is a questionnaire which I will send you the link to which includes all of your other information as well in case you need to change anything and that can be filled out at your leisure as long as I have it all at least a week before your wedding.
